Kris Abrams Abrams

Cedar Tree Healing Arts
Kris Abrams, Cedar Tree Healing Arts, is a nature-based psychotherapist and shamanic practitioner. Kris loves helping people live lives of greater meaning, connection and joy. She works privately with individuals and couples, and has taught trainings that support people to identify and live what matters most to them, deepen their spiritual relationship with nature, become more effective as changemakers and activists, and increase inclusivity in their non-profit organizations. Kris has a background in the nonprofit sector, working in 2000-2003 as producer and senior producer of Democracy Now!, a national, independent news and public affairs program. Desperate for mountains and a pace of life that felt more natural to her, she moved from New York to Boulder and led KGNU’s expansion campaign into Denver. She has also worked for Global Greengrants Fund, the Peacemaker Institute of Colorado and Urgent Action Fund for Women’s Human Rights. A Rhodes scholar, Kris holds a Masters of Social History from Oxford University and a Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College. She shifted into private practice after a solo trek along the Pacific Crest trail where she realized she was yearning for a life rooted in the transformative power of nature.
