Blake Angelo

City of Denver
Blake Angelo, City of Denver, is a food system development professional with specific experience in direct market agriculture, food systems and economic development. His work with local food and agriculture enterprises has included: conducting market analyses and strategic marketing plans for CDFI healthy food lenders; developing business plans for cooperatives and food hubs; shaping statewide business development plans for the food and agriculture industry; and facilitating food policy councils. He has helped to build small farm enterprise budgets and created a farmer business training program focused on small, urban and direct market producers (now replicated in four states). Blake currently works for the City of Denver and is responsible for supporting food-related business and community development efforts. He has previously served as a business and organizational development consultant, the director for the Beanstalk Foundation and as the first Urban Agriculture Specialist for Colorado State University Extension in Denver and Jefferson counties. He has a Masters degree in Public Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Evolutionary and Ecological Biology.
