Boulder, CO
Mary Reilly-McNellan has been interested in cemeteries, conservation, and education since 1998, when she left her position as a Mountain Parks ranger/naturalist to manage preservation efforts in Boulder’s historic Columbia Cemetery. Although she has an abiding affection for old burial grounds, Mary’s dedication to environmental sustainability redirected her path to advocating for Green Burial. She has been a volunteer for Natural Transitions Magazine since 2013, working as both an editorial assistant and writer. She enjoys educating the public about the negative environmental and spiritual consequences of current burial practices, and will not rest in peace until Green Burial is brought to the Boulder area.
